With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we pause to honor the life and memory of Michael Teghen Amuche, a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, who departed this life unexpectedly on May 2, 2026, in San Jose, California.
Michael was born on January 11, 2004, in Mbengwi, Cameroon, to his loving mother, Glory Morikang. From a young age, Michael grew up working hard to support his mother and siblings. He became known as a kind, respectful, humble, soft-spoken, hardworking, and generous young man. Michael carried a gentle spirit, a joyful heart, and a quiet strength that touched the lives of many who knew him.
Michael attended secondary school and high school in GTHS Njindom in Mbengwi. Due to the civil unrest in the Anglophone region of Cameroon, he later attended Mervick Bilingual Grammar School in Yaounde after which he learned auto mechanics. Michael had a natural gift for fixing things and taught himself many skills along the way. His love for cars and his ability to repair them became a meaningful part of his life. He used his talent not only as a skill, but also as a way to help others in his family and community.
In July 2024, Michael and his siblings moved from Yaoundé, Cameroon, to the United States to join their mother. His arrival brought hope to the Cameroon community as he used his skills to assist many people. Though his time in the United States was far too short, Michael quickly became a source of help, kindness, and hope to many in the community, using his gifts to serve others and leaving a lasting impression on his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Michael will be remembered for his humility, kindness, joyful spirit, and willingness to help. He was funny, loving, protective, and caring. Though soft-spoken, his presence was deeply felt. His passing has left a pain that words cannot fully express, as he was snatched from his family and community too soon.
Michael is survived by his loving mother, Glory Morikang; his sister, Blessing; his brothers, Briyan, Beltus, his cousins, aunties, uncles, extended family members, and many friends who loved him dearly and will forever cherish his memory.
May Michael’s soul rest in perfect peace.
