Melicia (Millie) Gomez, 80 years old, of San Martin passed away on January 29 at home surrounded by her children and extended family.

The funeral service will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy, CA. The viewing at Habing will be held on Thursday, February 2 ^nd from 3 - 6 pm. The vigil will start at 6pm. Mass will be at St. Mary's Church on Saturday February 4 ^th at 12:00pm. Burial to follow at St. Mary's cemetery.

Millie was born in Brawley California on January 11, 1937. Daughter of Ezequiel and Maria Mora of Gilroy.

She was married to Ruben Gomez on September 13 ^th 1953. Miliie was married to Ruben for 63 wonderful years before he passed away last year.

Millie worked as a machine operator for Controlled Mail Service for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, music, karaoke, dancing and loved having family gatherings at her home for all of the family. She was a leader in Girl scouts and Cub/Boy scouts clubs. Millie and Ruben were involved in the Filipino American Club of Gilroy and also Senior Center of Gilroy.

She volunteered annually for many years for the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Melicia Gomez is survived by Barbara Burrows, Ruben "Chris" Gomez, David Gomez, Maria Gomez and many grand and great grand children.
