Obituary
Mary Lou Hawkins (Riley), a resident of Gilroy, passed away on Monday July 22, 2013. She was 88.
Mary Lou was born in Santa Monica CA on May 25, 1925. She lived there with her parents Howard and Ella Riley and her older sister Alene. She attended Santa Monica HS and excelled at costume design, she also sold war bonds during WWII.
She raised her family along with her loving husband of 46 years Tom Hawkins in the bay area, primarily in Newark, who preceded her in death 15 years ago. She is survived by her daughter Eloise Allen (Hawkins) and her husband Glen of Ventura, Bill Hawkins and his wife Michelle of Gilroy, and seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Nick, Ronald, Michaela, Morgan, Kenyon and Kendall, and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
A public service will be held on August 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope Community Church 8886 Muraoka Dr. Gilroy.
Placement of cremains will take place on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 12:30 PM at San Joaquin National Valley Cemetery, Gustine, CA.
