Mary "Helen" Gomonet, age 70, a longtime resident of Gilroy, peacefully passed away and met her creator on Wednesday, November 12, 2012 at the Pacific Hills Manor Conveslesent Hospital. She has joined her parents Tony & Nieves Santos and Fortunato Gomonet and her sister Josephine "Nina" Batey.

Mary was known as Helen to her family, but most of all everyone who truly knew her, called her a friend. She will be remembered for her many qualities, wisdom, compassion, humor & generosity are just a few to describe this great woman.

Mary graduated from Gilroy High School in 1960, then moved on to Hartnell College for an education. She ultimately decided on Beauty School and received her Cosmotology License and became a hairdresser in Salinas & San Jose for 20 years. Mary also spent 20 years as a custodian for San Jose State University.

Mary is survived by her siblings:

Albert Gomonet of Clovis, CA Tim Collado of Salinas, CA Irving Collado of Pheonix, AZ & Numerous nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to give special thanks to Wesley Gomonet. He was her 24/7 care provider & had the patience & understanding for her illness that needed a lot of attention. It was a sacrifice he accepted. We would also like to thank Dr. Peters and staff of Kaiser Hospital & The Satellite Dialysis of Gilroy.

Visitation 11:00am, Monday, November 12, 2012 at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Mass following at 1:00pm at St. Mary Catholic Church.
