She was born on April 27, 1989, in San Jose, California, to Chrissy Cortez, and was raised in Gilroy, California, where she formed lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories.

Marisa will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, her strength, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. She had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and cared for, and her presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

She cherished time spent with family and friends and found joy in the simple moments that brought people together. Her love, laughter, and energy will never be forgotten.

Marisa is survived by her loving mother, Chrissy Cortez; her daughter, Mariah Gutierrez, who was her greatest pride and joy; her fiancé, Louie Musquez; her father, Erik Llewelyn, who lovingly raised her; her brothers, Erik Llewelyn (Kim) and Nicholas Garcia; her nieces, Reyna and Noelani; her nephews, Kai and Koa; along with many other family members and dear friends who will forever carry her in their hearts.

She was reunited in heaven with her beloved grandparents, Richard and Esther Cortez.
