MARIO VALDEZ was born and raised in Gilroy. Mario passed away at Valley Medical Center in San Jose surrounded by his family. Mario worked for the Social Security Office in Salinas. Son of Maria G. Valdez of Gilroy and the late Carlos Valdez. Brother of Alice Alfaro (Roger), Margaret Padron (Larry), Elvia Silva, Lolly Diaz (Ruby), Linda Martinez (Raul) Mariano Valdez (Fran), Fernie Valdez (Cynthia), Carlos Valdez (Lynda) John Valdez (Terri), Danny Valdez and the late Richard Valdez. Also preceded in death by his nephew Roger Lee Alfaro. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family viewing was held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Habing Family Funeral Home.

Memorial Mass Tuesday, May 10, 2011 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary Church, 11 First Street, Gilroy.

Reception will follow at Serra Cottage, 7980 Church St., Gilroy.
