Mario J. Moretti passed away of a brief illness on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the age of 80. Mario was born and raised in Gilroy, where he lived his entire life. Mario was a graphic artist most of his life. He enjoyed all types of motor sports and going on long drives. He never needed Google Maps-they needed him. He loved spending time with his family and great group of friends who have endless stories about their times together.

Great Uncle to Alissa (Tommi) Gil of Hollister, Gia (Steven) Vasend of Alameda; Brian (Karrie) Collom of Gilroy, Nicole (Matt) Arvizu of San Diego, Cassondra (Danile) Sullivan of Las Vegas, Alexandria, Isabella, & Francesca Comin; Justine (Tim) Carruesco, Ashley, Kade & Kennedy McDermott of Gilroy. Great-Uncle of Kash, Monroe and Tinsley Gil of Hollister, Adam, Elliot and Charlie Collom and Dominic Carruesco all of Gilroy. Cousins in the USA and Italy.
He graduated from St. Mary's School, Gilroy High School and San Jose State University. He served as a member of the Coast Guard.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Emelia and Equizio Moretti; Sister and Brother-in-law Anna Marie and Joseph Barberi ; Great niece Ariele Combs and nephew Michael Mc Dermott.
Visitation will be Friday April 21, 2023 8:30 am Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, Gilroy. Family would appreciate donations to St. Mary School.
Mario will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
