At the age of 79 Maria Fatima Lima Lopes, our beloved Mother and Grandmother known as Vovo, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 9th surrounded by family, friends, and pets.

We celebrate and honor her memory, as she is now worshipping God in the kingdom of heaven, reunited with her Mother Palmira, Father Joaquim "Jack" Lima, and her dearest dog Ricky Pepe.

After immigrating from Portugal in 1953 she worked as a social worker and was a proud member of the Santa Clara Women's Club and Harris Lass House Museum. No one who met Vovo could forget her kindness, affection, and deep admiration for those she loved. Vovo leaves behind her adoring children Joseph and Caroline Lopes, grandchildren, Jack, Arizona, and Kingston Adams, and cherished animals Fred, Francis, Ponyboy, Twobit, Crambone, and Baby Cat.

Funeral services will be held in her honor on Friday, January 24th, at 11:00 am at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery Chapel, and a reception will follow 12:00 pm at the Harris Lass House Museum.
