IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria
Gutierrez
June 27, 1956 – June 17, 2024
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Gutierrez, on June 17, 2024, at the age of 67. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, cherished sister, beloved aunt, dedicated parishioner, and a dear friend to many.
Maria was a woman of grace, compassion, and unwavering strength. She dedicated her life to her family and her faith, always putting the needs of others above her own. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of over 45 years, Enrique Gutierrez, Maria is survived by her cherished children - Martha, Jose, Gilbert, Diana, Andrew and Cynthia and their spouses - Clay, Blanca, Owen, Megan, her adored grandchildren - Alan, Elias, Ivan, Damian, Delaney, Ronan, Avery, and Adeline. She was also a dear sister to her 13 siblings and a treasured friend to many.
Throughout her life, Maria was known for her boundless generosity and her remarkable ability to bring people together. Her home was always open, a sanctuary where love and laughter filled the air. She had a passion for sharing her faith and was renowned for her award-winning tamales, which brought her immense joy and allowed her to connect with others in meaningful ways. She often said, and it was undoubtedly true, that the secret ingredient in her homemade tamales was love.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Viewing services at Habing Funeral Home will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 4pm to 9pm with a Rosary service at 6pm. A funeral Mass service to honor and celebrate Maria's life will be held on Monday at 2pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church and burial service at 3pm at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Maria was deeply devoted to spreading the word of God through her favorite radio station, often sharing small cards with the station's information on them. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to El Sembrador Ministries in her memory at: https://elsembradorministries.com/esne/thesower/donate/
Maria's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, mom. You are deeply loved and will forever be in our hearts.
