Maria passed away peacefully at home at the age of 95. She was born in Sao Jorge, Azores Islands, Portugal. She was the wife of the late Joao Bettencourt; beloved mother of Albert (Maria) Bettencourt and loving grandmother of Jacinta Bettencourt all of Gilroy, CA; dear sister of Brites Silveira of Soa Jorge, Azores Islands, Portugal.
She was a member of the IFDES Lodge and Our Lady of Fatima of Gilroy.
Visitation will begin Sunday, July 11, 2010 - 1:00 PM with Vigil at 5:30 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass Monday, July 12, 2010 - 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 11 First Street, Gilroy.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 900 First Street, Gilroy.
