Marguerite Frances Gomes passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy, California. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Marguerite Gomes was born on March 31, 1922 in Gilroy, California. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph F. Gomes and her daughter, Linda G. Watts. She is survived by her son, Robert F. Gomes and step-daughter Lillian M. Hill. Grandchildren Joseph L. Keller, Marguerite M. Murphy, and Jessica L. Gomes. Step-grandchildren Ernie J. Hill, Roxie M. Rasmussen, and Joseph L. Hill. Brother, Albert Silva and long-time friend Sue Serafin. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marguerite loved her family, friends and the community. She was a long time member of Women in Touch II. She also sponsored many baseball and softball teams in the community throughout the years. In her youth she enjoyed painting ceramics, bowling, playing cards and going to the movies. She was full of life and she touched everyone she knew.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 10, 2011 with the Rosary following at 6:30 PM, both at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.

The funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:30 AM.

Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 900 First Street, Gilroy, CA
