On December 28, 2019, surrounded by family in his own home, Margarito Reyes passed away peacefully.  He enjoyed 89 years of glorious life, and his family and friends will always remember his generous spirit, strength of character, faith in God, and loving devotion to anyone he knew.

Margarito Reyes was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  His wife of 68 years, Susana Reyes, and his twelve children, Ruben Reyes, Ernesto Reyes, Margarito Reyes, Ismael Reyes, Alejandrina Hernandez, Reyes Reyes, Maria Macias, Jaime Reyes, Susana Reyes, Vicky Ortiz, Rosa Torres, and Erika Helms, survive him.

Margarito Reyes was born in Michoacanejo, Jalisco, Mexico, on June 10, 1930, moving to Gilroy in 1982, with his wife and some of their children, where he resided most of his life.  Among many things, Margarito Reyes enjoyed baking, cooking, playing dominoes and cards, taking walks, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Although Margarito Reyes is no longer with us, he left so many loving memories for his family to cherish and footprints in our hearts that he will never truly be gone.  It goes without saying that he will be dearly missed by all.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Habing Family Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, Gilroy.  Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
