Manuel Silveira Leonardo, 68 passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at El Camino Hospital. He was a resident of Gilroy for 42 years.

Manuel was born in Rosais, Sao Jorge on August 24, 1946. He was a member and very involved in many Portuguese organizations. He survived by his wife Maria Fatima of 44 years of Gilroy; sons Antonio (Odilia) Leonardo, Manuel Leonardo, granddaughters Cecilia, Angela, Julia, and Lilia; a brother Leonardo (Lucinda) Silveira of Gilroy CA, three sisters Silvina (Joao) Machado of Los Banos CA, Angela (Jose) Sequeira, Margarida (Vital) Nunes, both of Rosais, Sao Jorge; a brother-in-law Tony (Lucy) Bettencourt of Arizona, sister-in-law Olivette (Luis) Teixeira of Milpitas, CA; Manuel leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Rosa Leonardo and his In-laws Arthur and Adelina Bettencourt.

Vigil services will be held 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 AM, Monday, October 20, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
