Born on July 14, 1958, Lupe Hernandez passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 66 years young. Although born in Toledo, Ohio, he was raised in Gilroy, California. Before retiring and becoming the best Papa he could be, Lupe was a skilled Tire Technician for over 30 years.
Lupe was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time talking about anything and everything related to baseball, football, or basketball. His favorite teams were the SF Giants, 49ers, and Warriors. He had a great love for The Beatles and loved sharing their music with his kids and grandkids. Lupe was deeply loved by his family and brought joy to their gatherings with humor and warmth. Spending his days visiting with friends and family was something he looked forward to every day. Fishing became a favorite pastime of his later in life, and he was making wonderful memories after every outing.
Family was the cornerstone of Lupe's life. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Raymond Hernandez, Adrianna Hernandez, Carlos Adragna, Rosanna and her husband Joseph Delgado, Angelina Hernandez, and Andrew Bibaeff. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Raymond Hernandez Jr., Julia Hernandez, Annabelle Adragna, Carlos Adragna Jr., Ellie Adragna, Joanna Delgado, Lilianna Delgado, Joseph Delgado Jr., and Andrew Bibaeff Jr.
Lupe is also survived by his sisters: Maria Hernandez, Margaret Hernandez, Susie and her husband Carlos Salas, Esther and her husband Frank Castaneda, Peggy and her husband Jesse Sanchez, and Terry and her husband Robert Heredia. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Montalvo, and sisters-in-law, Hortencia Hernandez and Stella Hernandez, as well as many nieces and nephews mourning his passing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Teodoro and Angelina Hernandez; his brothers, John Hernandez, Theodore Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Lalo Hernandez, and Humberto Hernandez; his nephew, Carlos Vaca; and his cherished daughter-in-law, Zinnia Hernandez.
Services Celebrating Lupe's Life will begin on Thursday, June 5th, at 10:00 am, held at St. Mary's Church in Gilroy, CA.
