Obituary

Lucille, 97, Gilroy, passed away on April 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  She is survived by her Daughter; Lucilia (Daniel) Leonardo, Grandchildren; Jeffrey and Shannon Leonardo and Great Grandchild; Taylor Yslava, all from Gilroy, Niece; Marilyn (Richard) Allen, Great Nephews; Gary and Greg Allen, all from Discovery Bay. She is also survived by many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Diolinda Furtado, Brother Manuel "Mel" Furtado and Sister in law, Madeline Furtado, all from Sunnyvale.

She was a native of Sunnyvale, born February 8, 1921.  She settled in Gilroy in 1946. She was a member and past President of the Native Daughters of the Golden West. Also a member of Gilroy Grange, IFDES, Our Lady of Fatima, Women in Touch and the Over 50's Club of Morgan Hill.  She also volunteered at the Garlic Festival for many years.  She was also an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Mary's Church.

She loved sewing and made clothes for everyone in her family.  She also enjoyed making crafts and whenever there was a special function that she would participate in, her centerpieces would adorn the tables.  But most important to her and what she loved most, was spending time with her family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10:00 am at Habing Family Funeral Home, A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara, CA. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity.
