It is with a heavy heart that the family of Louis S. Ponce announces his passing after being affected with respiratory illness. Louis passed on December 18, 2018 at the age of 70 years with family by his side.

Louis was born in Grandfalls, Texas, he graduated high school at Andrew Hill in San Jose, Ca. Louis raised his family in San Jose and in the Central Valley. Louis retired from Pacific Bell as a service technician. Music was a favorite past time, Louis played the saxophone enthusiastically and led several local bands.

Louis is survived by his devoted children, Louis Ponce Jr. and spouse Christal of San Jose, Rita Badhan and spouse Narinder of Los Angeles, Misty Roderigues (step-daughter) of Modesto, Nicholas Ponce and spouse Monique of Modesto, Cynthia Ponce of Modesto, Antone Ponce and spouse Valeria of Modesto, and 17 grandchildren, 7 sisters and 5 brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He is preceded in death by Steve Ponce (son), Louisa Ponce (Daughter), his parents Juan and Rosalia Ponce and older brother Lucas Ponce.  His infectious smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth Street, Gilroy, CA 95020.  Funeral service on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Saint Catherine's Church, 17400 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.  Burial to follow at Mount Hope Memorial Park, Morgan Hill, CA.
