IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Schivo
Ronsse
September 29, 1940 – August 10, 2025
On August 10, 2025 Linda Schivo Ronsse left us to enjoy her eternal reward in heaven. In her nearly 85 years of life, Linda touched many people and created a legacy that lives on. Linda was born on September 29, 1940 in San Francisco. Her parents Edwin Schivo and Josephine Reynolds Schivo along with her sister Joanna Schivo Cembellin shortly after moved to Santa Cruz. Linda was only 4 at the time, however remembered proudly that her family built the adobe home where they lived. Eventually, Linda moved to San Jose and lived there with her family until she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Ronsse.
At a Catholic social gathering they met and never parted. They were engaged in months and married within a year. There love story never ended.
After marriage they had two children, Kenneth and Matthew. Living in the Blossom Valley area of San Jose, Linda left her work as a legal secretary and stayed home to care for the family until Ken and Matt were in middle school and less reliant on her constant care.
She worked as a teacher aide and then transitioned to the district office. She had several hobbies including bowling with Bob's coworkers, learning how to decorate cakes, playing bingo and singing in the choir. She was the only one in the family who could carry a tune.
After 17 years with the Oak Grove School District she retired and started to spend more time traveling and enjoying her free time.
Her retired years were spent with trips to Colorado to visit Matthew in Montrose where they enjoyed the outdoors and continued their camping endeavors. She enjoyed going on cruises with her friends and she starting scrapbooking.
Most importantly she had more time to be a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren from Kenneth and Wendy Ronsse. Linda experienced many school activities, sports events and community plays with her children and grandchildren.
Her family enjoyed seeing her excitement to receiving a special surprise gift from Bob, a red convertible Mustang. Linda loved to feel the wind in her hair when she drove her convertible with the top down.
However her most profound accomplishment was a wonderful 60 year marriage to Bob.
Linda is survived by her Husband Bob, children Ken and Matt, her daughter in law Wendy, grandchildren Ashley (Howell) and son in law Stephen Howell, Amanda, Hannah (Avila), son in law Jakob Avila, Joseph and James. Linda leaves behind her sister and several nieces and nephews. Linda also leaves her great granddaughter Olivia who gave her joy throughout her illness.
It is important to recognize the many people that helped with her journey through ALS. Kaiser Hospice, home nurses from Boundless Care, individual CNAs Leah Rameriz and Morgan Parra and the entire family who battled this illness with Linda. Their work is greatly appreciated.
