Obituary

Linda Lou (Fiori) Wood passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Wednesday morning, November 3, 2021, from complications relating to Lewy Bodies Dementia.

Linda was born in Gilroy, California on February 9, 1945 to a wonderfully large Italian family. The home was always full of relatives, friends, and so much joy and laughter. She was a devoted wife of 46 years to Theodore Edward Wood, who passed away in December 2011. Linda loved her family of three brothers, Larry (Charlotte), Louie (Lynn), and Lloyd (LaVon); one sister, Loraine (BC); and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother to Ted Wood, Tim (Diane) Wood, and Leeanna (Bryant) Hammer and grandmother to Michelle, Karisa, Teddy, Andrew, Melissa, Jamie, Lauren, Brandon, and Madison.

Linda was one of the last graduating high school coed classes at Palma High School in 1963, who then went on to study to be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Hartnell College. There, she met her husband and they were married on July 11, 1965. She loved to listen to 1950s and country music and spend time with her husband in Monterey.

Linda was a kind and giving soul who loved to help others. Many stories can be told of her kindness, always coming to help mend with her first aid kit and butterfly bandages. She was an amazing seamstress and always had a project on hand. Many dresses, shirts, blankets, Halloween costumes, dolls, and wall hangings were all made by her loving hands. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Cookies were always in the cookie jar while, usually, some kind of pasta was for dinner. She loved to garden and show you her blooming flowers or vegetable garden. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Most of all, she valued, cherished, and deeply loved all of her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whether the activity was going to the park, getting ice cream, or attending their extracurriculars. She would attend all sporting events, volunteer to be team mom, and even learn how to keep the scorebooks if needed. She loved life and all that was in it.
