Lillian (June) Silvera Nicholson was born on her parents ranch which is now the present location of the San Jose Airport.

June is an 8th generation descendant on the Spanish side of her family. She graduated from the first graduating class of James Lick High School.

June married Allan Nicholson, a Naval man at Moffett Field during the Korean Conflict. In addition to her husband, June is survived by her four children, Bruce (Patty) of Gilroy, Ben (Scott) of Fort Bragg, CA, Brian (Marguerite) of Aptos and Alicia Raj (Anoj) of Peoria, Arizona. June has eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one on the way. Her much loved grandchildren are Michele, Melissa, Andrea, Marc, Katherine, Jenny, Andrew, Aidan, Brooks, Austen and Anaya. Her great-grandchildren are Giavanna and Dominic. June is also survived by her younger brother Tony Silvera and his wife Charlotte and family. She was predeceased by her older sister, Sissy.

Her family will be present for a viewing on Sunday, February 17th, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th St., Gilroy, CA. Funeral mass will be Monday, February 18th, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 11 First St., Gilroy, CA followed by burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
