Leta Irene Reed Smith died on Oct. 8, 2013 in Fresno, CA.

Leta was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1926. The Reed family moved to Morgan Hill in 1934 where Ira Reed's sister, Mrs. Liberty Riggs and family lived.

Leta went through Morgan Hill schools, attended San Jose State University and later married Heston Smith in 1946.

She leaves behind a daughter, Gayle Lynn Smith of Morgan Hill, a sister, Ola Mae Reed Downer of San Diego, 2 nephews Bill Downer of Rancho Bernardo and Ted Downer of Morgan Hill, a niece Susan Downer Blair of Prunedale.

She was interred at Mount Hope Memorial Park to be together with her husband Heston and daughter Carol Smith.
