Leonarda (Lala) Gomez,was in the surroundings of her family,when she passed away at home on July 14, 2014. Lala was born on Feb.1, 1927 in San Benito, Texas. She arrived in Gilroy in 1964 and worked at Gilroy Foods for over 30 years. She is survived by her children: Carmen MacLeod (Jim) Santos Garcia Jr. (Lydia) Joe Garcia (Linda) Richard Garcia (Ingrid) and Cynthia Garcia- Torres. She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren. Lala will be tremendously missed by all, and will be remembered for her beautiful smile,friendly nature, and the special bond that she had with each of her children and grandchildren.

She will be remembered for always helping those in need, and you could usually find her enjoying her coffee and a good meal at O.D.'s cafe.

Lala had a strong faith and Love for Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,in whose loving arms and presence she now rests for eternity.

A visitation begins 5:00pm, Thursday, July 17, 2014 followed by a vigil service at 7:00pm both at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place 10:00am Friday, July 18, 2014 at South Valley Community Church, 7652 Monterey Street, Gilroy. Burial to follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
