Obituary

Leonard Paul "ROCKY" Bautista, 68, passed away peacefully November 9, 2020 in Hollister, CA with his loving family by his side.   Rocky was born November 15, 1951 in Gilroy, CA to Bobby and Rosalie Bautista.  He is survived by the love of his life, Linda Bautista for whom he was married to for over 54 years.  Also survived by his children and their families, Rhonda and Sabino Benavidez, Roxanne and Joey Castaneda, Rockie and Rudy Maquinalez, Leonard II and Meghan Bautista, Vincent Martinez, Alfred Martinez.  He had 11 grandchildren and  8 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Bobby and Rosalie and his siblings Kenny, Larry, Beverly, Tessie, Ricky and Ronnie.

He had so much love for his family and he was loved by many.  He was the ROCK of our family. He was always there for all of us. His love was unconditional. He would help everyone, in any way he could and never expected anything in return.

His favorite things were to go fishing and camping with his family.  He also enjoyed bowling and loved watching his favorite teams the San Francisco Giants and 49ers play.  He had a great sense of humor and was always the jokester of the family. He was a hard worker and never gave up.

Rocky fought a battle against Prostate Cancer six years ago and won.  He was then diagnosed with lung cancer this year.  He underwent Radiation and Chemotherapy and he kept working until the doctors said he no longer could.  He fought a tough battle and was called home to be with his parents and siblings on November 9, 2020.  He will be dearly missed.

"Do not stand by my grave and weep. I give you this one thought to keep.  I am still with you. I do not sleep.  I am a thousand winds that blow.  I am a diamond glint on the snow. I am sunlight on the ripened grain.  I am the gentle autumn rain.  When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.  I am the soft starshine at night.  Do not think of me as gone, I am with you still - in each new dawn."    -- Native American farewell

Graveside services will be held at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy.
