Leland "Lee" Scarper, 88, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 in Gilroy.

Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bette Scarper of Gilroy; children Jim, Nancy and Steve; sister in laws Mary Jane Green and Deloris Blake; brother in law Mike Pino of Salinas; nieces Sister Bobbi Green, Kelly Blake, Tamara Blake, Jeanette Erb, Karen Kruger, and Catherine Lewis; also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Orie and Ellenor Scarper and sister Verne Pino.

Born and raised in Mountain View, California. Graduated from Mountain View High School and attended San Jose State University. Army Veteran of World War II. Worked as a bookkeeper for several local seed companies for over 40 years. Member of St. Mary's Church, Life-member of Post 669.

Visitation 10:00 AM Monday, March 10, 2014 at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass follows at 1:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, Gilroy. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery
