Laudelinda (Lena) Silva Alves

Laudelinda passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026. She was born in Sao Jorge, Azores to Jose Julio and Maria Silva. In 1957, Laudelinda fulfilled her dream of moving with her husband and daughter to the United States, her father’s birth country. She was proud to be an American and of her Azorean heritage.

Laudelinda was a meticulous housekeeper. She was happiest when working in her garden, sharing the flowers, fruits, and vegetables with family, friends, and neighbors. A devout catholic, she was a member of the Five Wounds Portuguese National Church, Our Lady of Fatima Society, and a founding member and director of Alianca Jorgense.

Laudelinda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eugenia and Michael; grandchildren and spouses; Melanie and Joe, David and Megan; sisters Maria Leontina Sequeira, Estella Medeiros, and Laura Amaral. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Egidio; her parents, brother Jose C. Silva, and half-siblings Bernadette, Manuel, Luis, Delfino and Julio.
