Obituary
Lainne Setsuko Hirahara lost her courageous battle against cancer on March 1, 2013.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bob Hirahara, daughter, Lisa, both of Gilroy, and son, Robert and his wife, Diana, of San Jose.
Setsu was preceded in death by her parents, Masaharu and Toshiko Umemoto, and sister, Tomiko Takeuchi. She leaves her brother, Fred Umemoto, and sister, Candice (Fred) Kido, of San Jose, and sister, Alene (Gordon) Guthmiller, of Morgan Hill. She is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews and great-nephew and great-nieces.
Setsu spent her whole life caring for other people, always putting them before herself. Her kindness, generosity, gentle nature and genuine goodness will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Per Setsu's wishes, private family services are planned.
Donations in Setsu's memory can be made to the San Jose Buddhist Church or the American Cancer Society in her memory.
