Kirk T. Powell, age 59, of Gilroy, CA passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2021. Kirk is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years Sherry (Lindner) Powell, children Jenifer Powell (Avon, IN), Christopher and Lacey Powell (Avon, IN), and Nick and Christine Lindner (Los Banos, CA), 7 grandchildren, father Timothy Powell (Buford, GA), sisters and brothers-in-law Kristine and Craig Streeter (Buford, GA), Katherine and Bill Blevins (Buford, GA), Karen Powell (Atlanta, GA), Tina and Doug Purdie (Gilroy, CA) and 7 nieces and nephews. His mother Barbara Walker Powell (Buford, GA) preceded him in death.

Kirk was born August 24, 1961, in San Jose, California, and spent his life in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He had a passion for life and was always eager for the next adventure, especially if it involved his wife Sherry and a beautiful beach.  Kirk worked in the commercial and residential construction and civil engineering industries for over 40 years as a building superintendent and project supervisor.  He established strong relationships and friendships across the building industry and municipalities within the Bay Area and was a long-time employee of De Mattei Construction, as a General Superintendent. Kirk was a connoisseur of football and a steadfast fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He will be remembered for his zest for life, his love of his family, and his outspoken and refreshing honesty.

A memorial service to celebrate Kirk's life will be held at The Point Church, 3695 Rose Terrasse Circle, San Jose, CA  95148, on July 23 at 2 p.m., with a reception following. In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
