Obituary

Kimberly Ordaz, 55 passed away peacefully at her home Friday, August 9, 2013 surrounded by her family.

Wife of Chris Ordaz of Gilroy. Mother of Kaylyn and Claire Ordaz of Gilroy. Daughter of Judith Cleland (Bill) of Little Rock, AR; Orval Adair(Charlene) of Gilroy. Sister of Kenneth Adair of Hayward, CA.
Preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Adair. Daughter-in-law of Daniel and Kayneta Ordaz of Gilroy. Sister-in-law of Lisa Velasco(Jimmy), Dana Fachin(Gene) and Mark Ordaz (Kim) all of Gilroy. Also survived by nieces & nephews.

Early childhood was in Arkansas. As a young child she moved to Gilroy with her school teacher parents. As a teenager she moved again with her family to Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. Graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Art. She obtained her teaching credential from San Jose State University becoming a 3rd generation teacher. In 1988 married her husband Chris and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past July.

Kim was a school teacher for 30 years with Gilroy Unified School District most recently as a Kindergarten teacher at Luigi Aprea School.
In 2010 she was selected as Santa Clara County "Teacher of the Year".

Kim was a very popular and dedicated teacher and will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Services Thursday, August 22, 2013 – 5:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Avenue, Gilroy.

The family has established a scholarship fund in Kimberly's memory to benefit students from Gilroy Unified School District pursuing a career in teaching.
