Kelly was born in Gilroy, CA on 8/31/61 and his life on earth ended 8/18/15 due to a tragic accident at work on May 22, 2015. Kelly fell off a ladder and fell approx. 20' and suffered a brain hemorrhage, collapsed lung and multiple fractured ribs. He had been comatose since the accident.
Kelly is survived by his dad and mother, Ronald and Carole Ross of San Juan Bautista, Godmother Julia Mello of Gilroy, Step Grandmother Edith Hagobian of Coarsegold. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins along with multiple friends that he is leaving behind.
Kelly graduated from Gilroy High School in 1978. He attended a couple of semesters at Gavilan College then got a job on a cruise ship as a disc jockey for a short while then became a bartender in San Jose for seven months. He decided to get serious about an occupation and wanted to get into the construction industry. He attended trade school for five years while serving his apprenticeship. He worked as a foreman for Therma Corp and specialized in commercial refrigeration service. He worked for Therma for 31 years until his accident.
Kelly was certified for Scuba Diving two years ago and was looking forward to traveling and diving. He had less than one and one half years until he could retire.
Kelly is remembered by family and friends for his quick wit, his wonderful sense of humor, the crazy expressions and always to be able to make people laugh. He was known to be generous to a fault and opened his house several times to those in need. He was kind to the elderly and also to the young.
Kelly had so many friends that surrounded him with love while he was in the hospital. The hospitals would tell his mother that he has more visitors than any other patient.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club, Gilroy, CA.
