Kazuko "Peggy" Sakamoto

Kazuko “Peggy” Sakamoto, born on November 12, 1935 in Compton, CA, passed away on March 3, 2026 in Gilroy, CA at the age of 90. She was employed at both Magnex and Garlic Technology. After retiring, Peggy spent time reading paperback novels, doing crossword puzzles, and crocheting. She also volunteered many enjoyable hours helping kindergarten students in the classroom at Rod Kelley Elementary School.

Peggy was preceded in death by her late husband, Kiichi Sakamoto. She is survived by her sons Kasper (Rosa), Kirby, and Kregg Sakamoto. Grandchildren Michael (Elizabeth), Pamela, Melanie, and Kaylee Sakamoto. Great-grandchildren Penelope, Kennedy, and Kylee Sakamoto and Mikayla Lake.

She is also survived by her sisters, Susie, Lillian, Joanne (Lee), and brother, Jim, including brothers-in-law Oscar (Noriko), Charles (Kayoko), Harry, and sister-in-law Alyce, along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a short service beginning at 11 a.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home Gilroy, CA.

Burial to follow at Gavilian Hills Memorial Park.
