Kathy Ann Kunimura

We are sad to announce the passing of Kathy Ann Kunimura, age 69, of Gilroy, CA, who passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Kathy is survived by her Sisters – Karen, Donna, and Diane, Niece Allison Bartelstone (David), Great Nephew Luke, Great Niece Katherine, Great Niece Charlotte, Uncle Hiroshi “Casey” Kunimura (Dorothy), Aunt Shigeko Nishiguchi (Mike), Aunt Kathleen Hori (Frank), Aunt Celeste Kitagawa (Howard), Aunt Joyce Kuwada (Tyrone), and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by Brother Mason, Father Masaru “Moose”, and Mother Doris.

Kathy attended Glen View Elementary School, Brownell Middle School, and Gilroy High School. After completing a Fashion Program in Sacramento, she worked as an Assistant Buyer for Liberty House and then as an Assistant at Pebble Beach Sports Wear. She finished her fashion career with NAK Clothing.

Kathy will be remembered for her smile and contagious laugh. She was the “fashion police” for her family advising them on what to wear. She was also a terrific seamstress.

Kathy spent the last years of her life in the loving care of Gilroy Healthcare Center.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 10:00am, at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth Street, Gilroy.
