Kathryn Perino, last remaining child of the late Antonio Avila and Mary Nunes Maloney, born December 22, 1931 in Dixon, CA passed away of natural causes on March 15, 2021 in Gilroy, CA. The 12th of 13 children she is predeceased by all her siblings, Rose, Mary (Mae), Rosa, Carrie (Kay), Lena, Mabel, Victor, Ida, Virginia (Jeannie), Gladys (Dottie), Marie, and Alyce. She was a loving wife of 62 years to the late Salvadore Mateo Perino who passed October 12, 2012. She leaves behind her children, Elizabeth Williams and husband Norman of Carmel, Pamela Bautista of Phoenix, AZ, and Joseph Perino and wife Terri of Gilroy; Grandchildren Amy Bautista, Lisa Taylor and husband Nathaniel, Sarah Blessinger and husband Jeremiah, Hilary Engels and husband Daniel, Emily Perino, and Valerie Williams. She was a cherished aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was a loving and caring, stay-at-home mom, joining the work force when her children were grown. At that time she decided to return to school earn her GED and became a teacher's aide at Monte Loma Elementary in Mountain View where she remained employed until they relocated to Morgan Hill in 1989. She cherished her granddaughters and treasured their times together throughout the years.
Graveside services will be held for immediate family only at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery on Monday, March 22, 2021 according to current COVID-19 protocols. The family wishes to thank her long-time caregivers, Nancy, Linda, and Amparo for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NAMI-National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.nami.org)
