Kathleen Gardner Frassetti passed away peacefully after a 16 year battle with breast cancer in Scotts Valley, Ca on January 8th, 2022.

Kathleen was born to Darol and Naomi Gardner, June 2nd, 1946, in Gilroy California. She was the second daughter in the family with her older sister Roxane. During her growing years she lived in Neola, Utah, and Gilroy, California, where she developed a love of horse riding and animals.

She graduated from Gilroy High School in 1964. Her college years were spent in Provo, UT, attending Brigham Young University where she studied Speech and Language Pathology. Her first employment was in Gilroy, CA, as an elementary school speech therapist. There she met Kenneth Peterson of Martinez, CA, and were married after their courtship. Their new family included Ken's two sons, Steve and Scott. They added two more children to the family, their son Casey and daughter Kamy. She had the privilege of raising their children at home where Ken's work moved them to many areas around the San Francisco Bay Area.

When their children were in middle school, Kathleen returned to her love of teaching. All of her students loved her because she was known as the "game" teacher. When shopping in town, it was common for her students to run up and hug her.

Her husband Ken passed away in March of 1996 leaving her a widow at the age of 49. Years later she re-met and married someone she knew during her youth in Gilroy, Richard Frassetti. They shared in the joy of 16 grandchildren who all benefited from Kathleen's talents as a loving educator and mentor.

She is survived by her son Casey (Nicole) Peterson , daughter Kamy (Casey) Cannon, her step son Steve (Kepi) Peterson, her step-son Scott Peterson, her grandchildren and her sister Roxane Filice. She was preceded in death by her parents Darol and Naomi Gardner, her first husband Kenneth Peterson, and her second husband Richard Frassetti.

Graveside Services will be held 10:00am, Friday Jan 14th at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilroy.
