After 94 years of a life well lived, Josephine Gonzalez Sanchez entered peacefully into eternal rest on May 10, 2023. She was surrounded by those she loved and cherished the most, her family.

Josephine was born in Santa Paula, CA in 1929 to Jose-Carmen and Maria Gonzalez; and soon thereafter relocated to Gilroy, CA. The city she has called home ever since. Those who knew her, would say that she was a devoted wife and mother. As a woman of strong faith, she was a proud member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Prisciliano Sanchez and her daughter Magdalena Sanchez. Josephine is survived by her children Priscilla and her husband Jose Cardoza of Modesto, Richard and his wife Hilda Sanchez of Gilroy; Josephine Viveros of Gilroy; Ruben Sanchez of Gilroy; and eight grandchildren, Serafin and Veronica Castro, Albert Cardoza; Priscilla Kashefi; Esperanza and Josie Sanchez, and Salvador and Erasmo Viveros; along with thirteen great grandchildren, Angel Pena, Myriah Ortiz, and Christian Castro; Serafin and Joseph Castro; Cruz and Cade Kashefi; Mac Cardoza; Leonelle and Annaliese Marquez, Athena Martinez; Brandon and Maximus Viveros.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at the Habing Family Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, at 7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Friday, May 19, at 10 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Josephine's life.
