Josephine "Jo" Deaver passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Wife of the late Ronald Deaver. Mother of Lori Toste and her husband, Gilbert of Gilroy, Tami Pipkin and her husband, John of Gilroy, and Jim Deaver and his wife, Karen of Redding, CA. Grandmother of Ranelle Ameln and her husband, Ryan of Hollister, John Pipkin and his fiancé, Taryn of Hollister, Shannan Toste of Gilroy, Bryan Pipkin of Gilroy, Colton & Jason Deaver both of Redding. Great-grandmother of Sophia & Harper Jo Pipkin both of Hollister. Sister of Jim Fortino and his wife, Jean of Gilroy and the late Tony Fortino and his wife, Thelma. Daughter of the late Dominic & Mary Fortino. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A native of Kansas. Age 81 years.

Jo moved to Gilroy as a child and has been a resident ever since. Graduated from Gilroy High School. Worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life as well as raising her family. Devout member of St. Mary's Church and School.

Vigil Thursday, August 18, 2016 – 7:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Friday, August 19, 2016 – 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, Gilroy. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilroy. Reception to follow.
