Joseph Manuel Machado, 62, a native of Faial, Azore Islands, Portugal, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on April 12, 2010 in Gilroy, CA. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Gisela, of 37 years; loving children, Susana Machado and her companion Carlos Cruz, Bruno Machado and his wife Joelle and Marco Machado; cherished grandchildren, Emily & Brianna Machado and his 3rd grandchild who will arrive in June. Joseph was the dear brother-in-law of Ted & Maria Simas, Ismeria Rosa all of Gilroy and Diodete Simas and her late husband Jaime, Gualberto & Conceicao Simas all of Oakville, Canada. He will be missed by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He had a great passion for soccer and enjoyed his family, work, sports, politics and world news.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th Street, Gilroy, CA. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 11 Church St., Gilroy, CA followed by entombment at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
