Beloved husband and father, Jose Mungia, of Gilroy, died on June 14, 2012, he was 71. Born on February 9, 1941 in Denver, CO, he relocated to Gilroy in 1945.

Jose was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 15 years. He was always a great support for family, friends and neighbors. He would often be spotted in his white '77 Datsun truck running to help someone with a home repair. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all. He leaves a great void for all of those who loved him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene "Babe" Mungia; children Jose Mungia, Jr., Vivian Charles; grandchildren Priscilla, Angel, Paul, Brianna, Angelic, Mariah, and Jose III; great grandchildren Destiny, Isaac and Nevaeh; brother of Juan (Margarita) Mungia, Maggie (Trini) Subia, Mercy (Ralph) Sandoval, and Emily (Brad) Schroeder; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jose was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Felipa as well as his brother Jesse Mungia.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 8530 Forest St., Gilroy.
