Jose Ascension Martinez, Jr.

- Jose Ascension Martinez Jr., 73, of Gilroy, California, went home to be with the Lord, entering into glory on January 20, 2026. He will be remembered as a faithful man of God, with a true servant’s heart, who lived by the words of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
- Joe found his greatest purpose in serving others and living out Christ’s love through action. Whether through organized service or everyday acts of kindness, Joe believed deeply in showing up for others with compassion, patience, and grace.
- Joe’s gentle spirit and generous heart touched many lives. He never sought recognition or praise, his joy came from easing burdens, encouraging others, and being the hands and feet of Christ in everyday life.
- He was preceded in death by his son, Jose “Boy” Martinez and is survived by his beloved children: Lorine Mash, Alfred Martinez, Robert Martinez, Arthur Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, and Andrea Castillo, as well as many grandchildren whom he loved and cherished deeply. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends who were richly blessed by his kindness, faith, and steadfast love.
- Joe’s legacy of love, faith and service will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched. His life stands as a living testimony and beautiful example of Christlike love and devotion, serving Christ by serving others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely to others.
- A memorial service celebrating Joe’s life and his faithful walk with Christ will be held on February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Old City Hall Restaurant, Gilroy, California.
