After a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, Jose Ruben Flores, age 68, passed away at his home on September 19, 2017. Jose was born in Chimaltitan, Jalisco, Mexico on July 22, 1949.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose Flores (2003), Juana Lopez (2012), and his brothers: Armel Flores (1975), Carmen Flores (2008).

Jose is survived by his loving wife: Maria Estela Flores, his two sons: Jose Ruben Flores Jr, Enrique Flores, his grandchildren: Jose Ruben Flores III, Liliana Vanessa Flores, Daniel Noah Flores, Miranda Clara Flores. Jose was the oldest of 14 siblings. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Imelda Flores, Jesus Flores, Manuel Flores, Socorro Flores, Jesus Maria Flores, Salvador Flores, Margarita Flores, Mario Flores, Celida Flores, Jose Luis Flores, Rito Flores.

Per Jose's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no viewing. The following services will take place: Mass and Rosary on Monday, September 25, 2017 10:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church (11 1st Street, Gilroy, CA 95020). Following mass, his ashes will be interred at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park (1000 1st Street, Gilroy, CA 95020).
