It is with profound sadness and endless gratitude that we celebrate the extraordinary life of our Papa, Jorge Delgado. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community leader who passed away at the age of 87.
His journey was the very definition of courage and resilience. As a young man, driven by a deep love for his family and a dream for their future, he immigrated to the United States alongside his young wife and toddler Jake and while expecting their second child, Bill. He began his American story from the ground up, working tirelessly in a car wash to build a foundation for those he loved. Through sheer grit, sharp intellect, and an undeniable strength of character, he transformed those humble beginnings into a remarkable career, eventually rising to become the Vice President of Latin American Sales for PACCAR.
His discipline and passion extended far beyond the sales floor. A black belt in judo, he carried the values of honor, focus, and respect into every aspect of his life. He dedicated decades of service to the community as a Boy Scout Commissioner, mentoring generations of young men to lead with integrity, walk with confidence, and serve others.
Yet, for all his professional achievements and community honors, his greatest pride was always his family. He was a steady anchor, a source of boundless wisdom, and a tireless champion for his wife, Jo Anne, sons Jake (wife Cindy) and Bill (wife Angela) and grandchildren Christopher, Frank, Matthew and Isabella. His warmth, loving smile and steady presence were the heartbeat of every gathering. To know him was to feel protected, cared for, and deeply loved.
The world feels quieter, dimmer, and undeniably sadder without his presence in it. While our hearts are heavy with loss, we carry forward his legacy of courage, hard work, and unconditional love. He leaves behind a family that adored him and a lifetime of achievements that will inspire generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, Jorge would have appreciated donations to his favorite organization, Scouting America.
