John Henry Luth

On February 13, 2011 after 76 years of inspirational life, John Henry passed from this life to the next with loved ones' by his side. He was born November 14, 1934 in San Jose, California, and continued to prosper in Santa Clara County for the rest of his life.
John Henry is the son of Henry and Verna Luth and the brother of Bette Hicks (Larry) and Henrietta Williams, at rest.
After his school years, John Henry was proud to serve as a National Guard as a MP and then finished up his career in the Military by joining the Marine Corp. He couldn't have been prouder.
He married his beloved wife Dorothy "June" (Vierra) Luth on August 4, 1957, and they resided in Santa Clara. He was involved in many things throughout his career. In his early years, he was a Reserve Officer with the San Jose Police Department for 5 years and then later joined up with the Santa Clara Police Department Reserves and Santa Clara Fire Department Volunteers. He then began a career with the San Jose Water District. Years later he began a new career driving trucks and remained a professional truck driver for 26 years, retiring early due to various illnesses. Even after retirement, John Henry continued to contribute to the community by working for Santa Clara Police Department as a School Crossing Guard.
Together John and his wife of 53 years, June, were blessed with two beautiful children, Denise and John Allen, and got the chance to watch them grow into the mature adults they are today. June and John were then blessed once again with the birth of two grandchildren Dustin Luth and Stephen Schaadt.
His life here was filled with love; he worked hard all his life to provide for his family, gave endless love to many, encouragement and wisdom to all. John Henry will be greatly missed by all, but our memories of him will stay with us forever, and his love will never die.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 wonderful loving years, June Luth, daughter Denise "Luth" Schaadt; and son-in-law Michael Schaadt; son John Allen Luth, and his two grandchildren Dustin Luth and Stephen Schaadt. He also leaves behind his beloved sister Bette Hicks and brother-in-law Lawrence (Larry) Hicks, inlaws and many nephews, nieces, godchildren, extended family, and dear friends.

Both family and friends are invited to join in a "Celebration of Life" on Saturday, March 5th at 12:00 noon with the Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 P.M. This will be located at the American Legion, Post 419, located at 958 Homestead Road, Santa Clara, California 95050.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John H. Luth to Hospice or the Disabled War Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the "Celebration of Life".
