John Thomas Allen Jr.

Born January 24, 1925 in Selden, Nebraska. Died December 1, 2015 in Morgan Hill, CA where he lived for the last 16 years.

Married Helen in 1947 and had 5 daughters, 4 surviving. In 1985 he married his second wife Nancy. They became a blended family of 8 adult children. Marsha (Curtis), Janet (John), Sandra (Andy), Tammy (John), Pete, Joe (Lynne), Bob, and Nancy Ann. He has 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who all miss him greatly.

He moved from Selden, Nebraska to the Lodi area in California early on where he went to school and later met Helen. They moved fairly often in the early years and finally settled in San Jose, CA. He started his career in the milk business; he was the milkman who delivered milk to your doorstep each day for many years. He also owned two drive-thru dairies. In the early 1970's he became a maintenance person for Owens-Illinois. Both careers made him a very handy man. He enjoyed working with his hands doing everything from building, fixing, and doing projects for family and friends. His four daughters grew up working by his side. In addition he thoroughly enjoyed camping at the Russian River, Yosemite and the occasional obscure side of the road places. He always enjoyed the outdoors.

When John and Nancy moved to Morgan Hill he enjoyed walking on the green belt in the community where they live. One of their favorite things to do was playing cards and going to the Indian Casinos. Another past time in the recent years was his cat Scooter, he loved to take him for walks and watch him play.

He was always a great story teller, whether he was with family, friends at the donut shop, or McDonald's. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
