Jesse Xavier Centeno passed peacefully on the morning of Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by parents Salvador and Dolores Centeno, his brothers Robert, Charlie, Benny and Art Centeno, and son in law David Lujan Jr. He is survived by his brothers Joe, George and Richard Centeno, along with his daughters Valeria Centeno and Abraham Gonzales, Marie Centeno, Sonja Lujan, Tracy Centeno and Manuel DeHaro. Followed by grandchildren Kristy, Felicia, Abraham Jr, Ashley, Eddie Jr, Justin, Jasmine, Abel Jr, Stephanie, Jessica, David III, Marlene, Chastity, Sierra, Brooklyn, longtime partner Shawna Blakenship and companions Cody and Bella and many great-grandchildren.

Jesse was born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas on February 20, 1941 and raised in Yuma, Arizona. He later resided in Gilroy, CA where he attended Saint Mary's Catholic school and graduated. He was a jack of all trades, specializing in carpentry for over 60 years. He spoiled his daughters immensely throughout his life. He mostly enjoyed being a papa and great papa to all of his grandchildren leaving beautiful and happy memories to hold on to.

His favorite past times were hanging at home with the comfort of his dogs, listening to honky tonk, blues and country music, going to the beach, gambling at the casino and scratching lottery tickets.

He will truly be missed. A one of a kind character filled with high spirits who has overflowed our lives with laughter, love and knowledge. We will carry on his memory forever. A true Yuma cowboy. A visitation will begin Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 5pm with funeral services following at 6:30pm both at Habing Family Funeral Home. Private reception to follow on Friday, June 30, 2023.
