Jerrold Robert Hillesheim Birth - Saint James, Minnesota -April 17, 1925. Death - Gilroy CA - March 12, 2024. Father-Arnold John, Mother- Kathleen Miriam Morgan.

Jerry moved from Minnesota in the early 1940s with his family to San Francisco. They were seeking someplace cooler in the summertime-his brother John Thomas (deceased) and two sisters; Joann (deceased) and Judy (survives).

Preceded in death by two sons, youngest son Ross in 1966 and Dan in 2015.

Married June 7, 1954, to Helen Pauline Ackerson in Reno Nevada.

Those surviving are his wife Pauline Hillesheim of Gilroy CA, oldest son Paul of CA and Tom Hillesheim (Valerie) of Carmel, CA. Also, his youngest sister Judy of Walnut Creek CA. Numerous grand & great-grandchildren of Utah, Washington State, and locally. Also survived by the sons of Eugenio & Joan Bozzo; Dave, Bob, Ed, Frank, Jim, Gary, & Terry all of Gilroy and greatly loved.

Jerry loved family activities with all his relatives - especially those grand and great-grandchildren. He loved his neighbors and could often be found talking with and helping his neighbors. He had been a general contractor and built many homes in the Gridley CA local area and had been a schoolteacher and commercial fisherman.

Jerry was an active Temple Recommend holder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was very active in following Jesus Christ. He also loved music and dance - played numerous string instruments.

Jerry was a WWII Veteran in the Army Air Corps. He received his "wings" just as the war ended. He lived many years in Gridley CA and had many friends there.

He lived his last 20 years in Gilroy Ca with his wife Pauline. Together they spent 2 years on a "Church Mission" in Waterford Ireland and learned to love the Irish people. He felt these 2 years were a great accomplishment in his life as they served their Savior Jesus Christ and the people of Ireland for a full 2 years.

Memorial will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilroy, on Monday April 8th, 2024 at 11AM. Lunch will be served for family.
