Jeanette Frances Grigsby of Gilroy, CA passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the age of 85.

She was born to Joe and Freda Gonzales on February 17, 1938.  Jeanette was raised in Gilroy and later met and fell in love with Robert "Bob" Grigsby.  They enjoyed living many years together in the San Bernardino area of Southern California before moving back to Gilroy. She worked joyfully as a waitress and caretaker over the years, delivering meals and jokes to many.  She was a people person who took such pleasure in making people laugh.  After her parents passing, Jeanette took great pride in caring for her sister with special needs, Erminia (Mitie), and she dedicated the rest of her life to making sure Mitie was loved and cared for.  Although she did not have any children of her own, Jeanette loved children immensely and she mothered and nurtured many of her nieces and nephews with a loving hand and silly sense of humor.  Over the years, she loved enjoying amusement parks like Disneyland & Knotts Berry Farm, competing in bowling leagues, watching her favorite NFL team the Rams and of course her beloved Elvis Presley.

She is survived by her siblings Eddie Gonzales, Erminia Gonzales, Dolores Bravo and George Gonzales as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Grigsby, her parents Joe and Freda Gonzales, sister Adeline Padilla and brothers Bobby, Larry and Richard Gonzales.

Jeanette will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Bob at the Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First St. Gilroy, on her birthday, Saturday, February 17 at 1pm.
