Jean Elaine Porcella Molzner passed away at home on June 17, 2023, surrounded by family. Born in San Francisco and raised in Vallejo, CA, she was a graduate of St. Vincent Ferrer High School (1963) and San Jose State.  Post-graduation, she traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and North Africa before returning to the Bay Area. While working and living in San Francisco, she met her beloved husband of 46 years, Richard Molzner. Together they raised two daughters, living in Vallejo and then moving to Fremont in 1987.

Jean enjoyed working for Cal State East Bay in the Student Health Center, where she met many lifelong friends. Retiring in 2017, Jean and her husband continued their shared love of travel.  Some of their more memorable trips were Greece, Cuba, Switzerland, and her favorite destination, Vernazza, Italy.

In 2017, Jean and Richard relocated to Sacramento to be closer to their daughters. Jean enjoyed exploring her Land Park neighborhood, taking long walks, gardening and gathering with new friends. She also loved early American history and had a variety of antique and vintage collections.

Jean was a former parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, and then Holy Spirit Parish in Sacramento.

She is survived by her husband Richard Molzner, daughter Kathleen Taylor (Eric), daughter Christine Molzner (partner Jeremy), granddaughter Summer Wallace, brothers Alan, Edward, Ronald and Glen Porcella, and sister Geraldine Linek. She was the aunt of 13 nieces and nephews, and she was preceded in death by her parents, Margery and Frank Porcella and sister Diane Porcella.

A memorial service was held under a grove of redwoods in Mount Madonna County Park and she was laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Gilroy, CA.
