James Love Hughes, born July 20th 1938, in Salinas, CA to James and Margaret Hughes, passed Friday, January 15th 2021 in San Jose, CA. He was 82 years of age.

Jim was known as the guy who rode the motorcycle with his beloved dog Tyty who rode on the back seat with him or in his Red Truck. He loved to sit in front of Starbucks talking with his brothers and his friends. Telling stories of being in the Navy and of his family.

He was best known to his family as Jim or Papa. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends and truly enjoyed spending time with them and making everyone laugh with his sea stories.
Jim is preceded in death by his brother, George Hughes, his parents, James and Margaret Hughes.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mercy Hughes, 2 children and spouse: Cindy Hughes, James Hughes (Vicki). His sisters MaeAnn Scott, Patricia Missar, and Fran Tyler, and his brother Mike Hughes. Along with many many more family members that are too numerous to name. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Kaylee Sibert, Jessica Rorie, Jacynda Hughes, Tyler McQuaid, Melayna Hughes and Hayden Christopher, And 3 great-grandchildren: Tanner Sibert, Carter Sibert and Carson McQuaid.
