James Geoffrey Frost

Jul 22, 1951 — Jun 28, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Geoffrey Frost, who passed away on Saturday, June 28 at the age of 74.

Jim was a skilled contractor who took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and determination. He found joy in the simple things in life—working on cars, spending time hunting and fishing, and enjoying the beauty and peace of the outdoors.

Despite the challenges he faced, he met life with resilience, determination and a dash of stubbornness. Jim also had a wily sense of humor and an expressive face—he could say a lot with the raise of a brow. He also knew how to have a good time, not to take life too seriously and how to enjoy the wind in his hair while hanging out the window of his van.

Jim will be remembered always, and missed beyond measure. We hope that he will not be tearfully mourned (he would’ve hated that), but rather that his life be celebrated by living yours to the fullest. When you catch your next fish, see a hummingbird, feel the wind in your hair or the sunshine on your face, we hope you will think of Jim.

He is survived by his sister, Colleen Humphrey (Dave); his daughter, Angel Toste (John); his niece, Tricia Purkey (Jimmie); his grandchildren, Ashley Roorda (Bob), Sara Toste, and Michael Toste; and his great-grandchildren, Archer Roorda, Dashel Roorda and Jett Roorda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grey Frost and Vicki Henderson; his brother, Mike Frost; and his son, Michael Frost.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10am at Saint Mary Church, 11 First Street, Gilroy. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories as they honor his life.
