On March 22, 2005, a beautiful soul came into this world. At just 21 years young, Izaiah Barrera’s life was taken far too soon, leaving behind a family, friends, and loved ones whose hearts will forever carry his memory.
Izaiah was a genuine, respectful, loving, and happy young man. He had a personality that could light up a room, a sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him, and an adventurous spirit that made every moment an opportunity to create a memory. He was outgoing, full of life, and always had a way of making others feel welcomed and cared for. Above all, Izaiah had a big heart and genuinely cared about the people in his life.
Family meant everything to Izaiah. He thrived on being surrounded by the people he loved and cherished the moments spent together. He had a passion for sports, especially football, which had been a big part of his life growing up. He also loved the outdoors, spending time with his friends, and making memories along the way. Whether he was enjoying an adventure, laughing with friends, or spending time with his beloved BMW, Izaiah found happiness in the things he loved.
One of his greatest blessings was becoming a father to his precious baby boy, Izaiah Anthony Barrera II. His son was a special part of his world, and the love he had for him will forever remain a part of his story. Although their time together was far too short, the love between a father and his son is something that will never fade.
Izaiah is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Anthony Mendoza, and great-aunt, Vicky caballero
Izaiah leaves behind his beloved son, Izaiah Anthony Barrera II; his son’s mother, Isabelle Gonzalez; his parents, Pedro and Angelic Barrera; his siblings, Zoee and Aila Barrera; his nieces and nephew, Zanessa, Zanaya, and Zerimiah; his grandparents, pedro and jane Barrera and Sylvia Mendoza; his aunts and uncles, Amorette, Amanda and Eric Mendoza, and Alisa Barrera (Wicek); his great-grandmother, Angie Caballero; his great-aunt, Rosie Caballero-Mellor; his great-uncle, Raul Caballero; his cousins, Andrew and Elijah Mendoza; and many other relatives and loved ones who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Though Izaiah’s time on this earth was much too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime. He will be remembered for his infectious happiness, his laughter, his kindness, his adventurous spirit, and the genuine love he gave to those around him.
A son, a brother, a father, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, a uncle and a friend — Izaiah held so many special places in so many hearts. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his memories will continue to live on through his son, his family, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
A Message to His Baby Boy
To his precious son, Izaiah Anthony Barrera II:
Your daddy may not be here to watch you grow, hold your hand through life’s milestones, or cheer you on from the sidelines, but his love for you will forever be a part of your life. You will always carry a piece of him with you. May you grow up knowing how much your daddy loved you, how special you were to him, and how deeply he will always be loved and remembered. His story does not end here, because a part of him will live on through you. You will forever be his greatest blessing, his legacy, and his little boy.
Forever your daddy’s boy. Forever his greatest love.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Until we meet again.
