Obituary

Passed away at her home in San Martin, CA on March 10, 2017.

Kitty was born April 15, 1929 in San Francisco, Ca. to parents Richard and Isabelle Travers.  She graduated from St. Cecelia's Grammar School (1943) and Presentation High School (1947), both in San Francisco.  In 1948 she wed William Buchner and together they raised 8 children.  Kitty was actively involved in her children's lives, be it Brownies, Girl Scouts, school band, 4H or religious instruction programs. When the children were grown, Kitty enrolled in the P.E program at Gavilan College.  She participated in every sport except football - her favorite was racquetball. However, she would only play against the boys because they were a better challenge.  In 1989 Kitty was presented with the "Student Athlete of the Year" award.  After 35 years of attendance at Gavilan College, Kitty was unable to continue due to ill health.

Kitty is survived by her 8 children – Karen Pedigo, Susie Bar-Orian Buchner, Bill Buchner (Anna), Robert Buchner, Nancy Buchner Collins, Buck Buchner, James Buchner, John Buchner (Janice), 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her brother Richard, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
