November 10, 1947 – March 7, 2023
Ira B. Marshall was born in Miami, Florida on November 10, 1947. At age 14 he reached the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a varsity football player for University High School in Los Angeles and won the HS battle of the bands. Ira graduated with honors from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and went on to take law courses at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Ira did volunteer work for Legal Aid in Santa Clara County. He was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce in Morgan Hill, and Board of Managers for the YMCA. As a member of Rotary Club of Morgan Hill he was co-founder of the Veterans Day program (1993) arranging programs, honoring and paying tribute to American Veterans which continues today. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren honored Ira with a Resolution of Commendation for his contributions and work to support the recognition of Veterans.
Ira was an accomplished lecturer and educational seminar leader. He offered Business, Financial and Insurance planning assisting clientele in realizing their goals, establishing a plan of action and most importantly assisting clients in achieving their highest level of success. Most recently he offered educational Medicare seminars to help those through the Medicare Maze.
Ira was an avid Jazz and Rock Drummer and was involved with various rock and jazz groups throughout his life. He also enjoyed community theater with his wife Wanda.
Ira is survived by Wanda Susanne Willrich Marshall. He has many friends and will be dearly missed.
Ira will be laid to rest at the Gavilan Hills Cemetery in Gilroy after Services at Congregation Emeth in Morgan Hill on Sunday, March 12 th at 11AM. A reception will follow at his home.
